Hi, I am Nathan. I am 34 years old and have a family, a full time job and lots of other responsibilities. My time is spent getting the things done that enable me to make it through the day and provide for my family. By the time I am done with those things, I usually don’t feel like doing much else. I am overweight, unhealthy and feel as if I don’t do something drastic that I will never be where I would like to be. This is where my journey begins.
Does this sound familiar? Statistically most of the population has these feelings. Everyone reads about “athletes” and all the accomplishments that they have made. We as a society are addicted to sports and following our favorite athletes. We do this from a recliner or couch while eating junk food and wishing our life was more like that all the while doing nothing about it.
I am no longer satisfied with sitting around letting life pass me by. I want to be healthy and fit and teach my son how to balance a healthy lifestyle. We always tell our children that they can do anything, but why not show them? I want to show my son that I can make a difference by raising a healthy and fit family, living a healthy lifestyle and by raising money for charity. Life is too short to stand on the sidelines any longer.
This is going to be a long journey. I truly am not an athlete. I am overweight, accident prone, and strapped for time and cash. It will at least be a fun ride with an interesting story. Won’t you join me?
